It Starts With You by Amy Goldberg

What does it mean to be YOU? How are you taking action toward “being” your potential? When do you start to trust yourself more? When do you start to realize that it’s within you to ‘BE’come? To become your voice. To follow your flow and energy around your why.

You know it starts with you when you’re comfortable to be your authentic self. Your strong self. Your vulnerable self. Your confident self. Your loving self.  You know when you can breathe within yourself. You know when other people’s opinions are just that, opinions.

Once you gather your strength of being, it is then that WE all start to ‘BE’come stronger together. That’s when the magic happens.

Today is that day.

What does that look like for you? It’s important to note that how you show up for yourself in this world is how you will BE with others.

Here’s where I’m going with this. If you could pause for just a moment. Think about how you describe yourself on paper. Now think about how you show up day to day. Are you aligned?

If you were to be completely honest with yourself. Do you walk the walk?

In last Sunday’s publication, I wrote an article entitled; ‘Please. Stop. Networking.’ Essentially it was about how we typically don’t show up with people. We are more attracted to the ‘idea’ or ‘function’ of something. In this case, it was networking. I described both the organizer and a few people who attended the networking event were anything but present or engaging in conversation. They were unaware of their own self-awareness. This happens a lot.

If we are to be better human beings, we need to start with ourselves. We need to stop looking for answers outside of ourselves. It’s not about status and position. We need to leave our ego at the door and enter rooms with our hearts. Our soul. Our true vibe. That’s what others feel before we even say a word.

Bring it back to yourself. It has to start with:

  • Loving yourself first. When you do, you are a much more loving person to others.
  • You need to be YOU. Let yourself show through. Show the world your unique talents. By being you, you will attract the right people into your life.
  • Listening. It is more important than talking. You need to learn to hear what people are saying so that they can be heard.

I’m not saying it’s easy. It’s not. If it were, we would all be living wonderfully supported and loving lives. I do however hope that one day our one mission in life would be to; “Wake up to connect and inspire with others so that others can rise.”

I have a dream ….
