In conversation with Vasundhara Patni- Founder of Kiro

Kiro, a newly launched Indian color cosmetics brand that lays focus on high impact makeup that looks good and feels good

While the idea of wearing makeup every single day comes with reservations linked to the negative impact on skin – Kiro’s formulas make this a possibility with skin-friendly healing ingredients and high-performance products. Founded by Vasundhara Patni, Kiro hopes to introduce clean makeup that creates a high impact, is affordable, mindful, indulgent, and curated for all skin tones and types.

With Kiro, you don’t have to choose between skin-friendly formulas and achieving the perfect makeup look. The products are made without toxic ingredients keeping the modern Indian lifestyle in mind and are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

What is your everyday makeup?

I like to keep my everyday makeup extremely simple by using just a liquid lip or a creamy bullet. During the lockdown, I had been using Kiro’s airy matte liquid lip in Sandy Rose for all my video call meetings. Pre-covid, my go to look would be a nude lipstick paired with a light cheek tint.

What beauty trend did you think was craziest and bizarre last season?

I feel one of the craziest and the most bizarre makeup looks last season was Ezra Miller’s Met Gala 2019 appearance. I thought it was extremely cool and unique considering the optical illusion that was created through makeup.

How did you learn about makeup?

I have never really been a beauty junkie in my life. Everything that I have learnt about makeup has been through my consumer research journey that led to the launch of Kiro. I learnt how makeup empowers different women in various ways in their daily life. That is something we took into consideration and was very crucial while building our brand ethos, to give these women simple solutions for their daily beauty pain points.

Where do you see Kiro in 2020?

We aspire to be a modern and contemporary brand with a strong Indian essence and eventually, become a global full-stack brand of choice for women seeking beauty products that are good for them. Kiro should be the answer for those looking to indulge into high performance makeup that’s clean and filled with extra goodness.

What does weekend self-care look like?

My weekend self care is majorly, getting some good sound sleep and relaxing with my family. I also believe in meditating for an hour once I wake up or reading a book in the evening with a cup of coffee.
