They say what the world needs is more implementation and less paperwork. The saying often gets stricken with the recent mishappening in our country. Whether it be the Mumbai’s BMW hit-and-run case or the Pune Porsche crash, the question arises on the system. We, living in the 21st century, stands globally as a developing nation but the deficacy in the basic safety of the masses on the road questions our accountability as a citizen. There are gradual amendments and listing of the traffic rules to adhere. The Punjab government recently monitored the installation of CCTV all around the state. This comes when the people rose in rage when the sun of a politician crushed the souls of two. This questions the credibility of the government and organizations for the demand of justice. The rules come and fades away with time. The fearness to adhere to them only seems to work on certain dates, but isn’t it disheartening that the basic rules of cooperation lacks until date while the world rises as a global nation. It is estimated that over a half million people give up on their life in road accidents. The data draws our attention to where the system lacks. Why?
The society still struggles for the compliance
of this basic needs. WHO (World Health Organization) suggest that complying with traffic rules ensure physical safety and stands supportive for the mental health of the humans. Adhering to general rules instill in people’s mind the value of mindfulness and discipline. This makes the issue stand out of just a mere niche. Moreover, it is an issue that sees less resistance to almost none as it caters to masses, their safety and valueness . A report study claimed that a country that follows a stringent set of rules on roads have people with less anxiety problem and are more happy minded. It allows the individuals to have a sense of safety in the world outside of home. Not only this adherence to traffic rules embark a sense of kindness and helpfulness, a much-needed human emotions. All the remarks and the reports,
statements and sayings highlights the importance and value of this issue globally, but the public still stands back when it comes to the real work. Every day and night we are embedded with the gradual increase in the cases that breaks our heart.
The main issue lies in human mindset, the governing body and our accountability to the society. We, human minds, are made to believe that it’s the duty of only the system, but we do fail to understand that regarding the constitution we do have some fundamental duties to stand up to. It must not only be the duty of the system to beat us to respect the rules but as saying goes” what matters is the work when nobody sees”. Every other day we hear the bizarre incidents of people crossing the tracks in between, clinging on the windows and rooftops in local trains. These incidents do surely question us as a delegate citizen. However, this does not go in one way. The system, our leaders, undoubtedly play an important role in any of the mishappening.
It is time that the police enforcement working on the roads do the real work with full efforts for the smooth implementation of the traffic rules.Gradual checking of law and order and quick actions for the justice is what the country demands. The wealth of some politician and leaders that comes as a hindrance over the health of a common civilian is the biggest failure that a country could see in a democratic society. It’s time that the government rise above these delegates and impart as a more trustable society for the nation to stand with. It’s not the duty of one but if everyone who prevails as a society.”WE” is made by every individual that sustains for their life, and it must be the duty of us to stand out as a nation that is beautiful and safe for all.
