Beauty with Brains- Meet Rohina Anand Khira who talks to us about how she spends her Friday. Rohina Anand Khira was born into a family whose sole passion was textiles. Rohina took over the renowned lifestyle brand “Ajay Anand Living” in 2009 and rebranded it as “AA Living”. She has won the Asian Paints Indian Decor Influencer Awards (IDIA) in 2016 as ‘Instagrammer of the year’ and Social Media Wonderwomen in 2017. In 2019 she also won the Elite Magazine ‘Woman of the year’ followed by the Häfele ‘Woman of Impact’ in 2020. Rohina’s vision is to merge creativity and quality and make it easily available to all those who want an imaginative home. She’s a firm believer in the practicality of interior textiles, understanding the customer and then delivering creative beauty.

What is your plan for the weekend?

Sleep until a reasonable hour in the morning. I’m homeschooling my kids during this lockdown and it’s quite a rude awakening – pun intended.

What are three things you are most grateful for this Friday?

Still having a running business and steady stream of income during these distressing times.

What song are you enjoying this week?

I’m a John Mayer fan – he’s always on loop whenever I want some downtime.

What’s your weekend morning routine?

Laze in bed until I’m forced out of it.
Stay in pyjamas, shower at some point in the day and then change into a fresh set of pyjamas.
I have also started a virtual portrait art class on weekends which keeps me considerably busy.

What does weekend self-care look like for you?

I try and add a hair pack – my current favourites being a rice water pre rinse or an apple cider vinegar rinse

What’s your must-have beauty product?

Ice – its such a great skincare hack – just apply it all over your face before sleeping.

What facemask do you absolutely love?

Aloe vera frozen into ice cubes

TV show you are currently enjoying?

Just finished ‘little fires everywhere’ and ‘unorthodox’ – would recommend both!

Are you a Tea or Coffee Person?

Tea!

What’s your favourite comfort food?

Rajma / Chawal / Bhindi

What is the funniest thing you have read about yourself on the internet?

That i never eat indian food (because I’m always putting up exotic recipes.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Cheese.

Your favourite quote?

Being busy and being productive are two different things.

What’s your spirit animal?

A tiger!

Where are you going on vacation when the pandemic is over?

Hopefully do my Japan itinerary that i had to shelve in the summer.

What advice do you have for any kid who looks up to you?

Passion = the difference between having a job and having a career. Remember that.
