But… by Amy Goldberg

It’s time. Today. Right here. Right now, to stop making excuses for yourself.

Our default mindset tends to be set on lazy mode. For some it takes all they can muster to find enough energy to get the daily things done. Does this sound like you? No? Not at all. “I’m Gary Vaynerchuk on caffeine. Leave me alone.”

For all those who are not Gary V on caffeine … lets push on.

Imagine when it comes time to you. Your needs. Your desires. Your goals and aspirations. I hear what you’re thinking; “What are you talking about? Goals and aspirations. By the time the end of the day rolls around I’m too exhausted to even think about me.”

That’s why this is important. It’s time for you to take control of your life and start to make things happen for yourself. Stop waiting for someone to come around and magically wave their wand. They’re NOT coming. Stop looking around. It’s you, yes you who has everything you need to take the first of many steps. Wasn’t it you who first learned how to walk? No one did it for you. Same thing applies here.

Taking ownership of your life starts with the understanding that you have choices. If your choices up until this point haven’t been the best, then you need to recognize that you’re enabling your poor decisions. Hard stop. This usually comes with excuses. You’re tired. No time. I’ll do it tomorrow, you get where I’m going with this.

What’s it going to take for you to get out of your own way and stop making excuses? What’s it going to take for you to start owning your life and start taking action toward pushing yourself further?

We live in a world of instant gratification. When we don’t get it, we tend to give up. What happens is, time goes by whether you’re ready for it or not. One day you’re going to realize that time just slipped through your fingers and you’ll stand there scratching your head wondering; “What the ….?” Even if you’re that guy, Gary V, you’re STILL saying it because time still moves way too fast.

Imagine if every day you did one thing that moved you toward your goals. Goals that helped to build your confidence and progress you to the next level. Stop sacrificing your goals and settling for auto-pilot. Your life and what bring you joy, matter. That illusive happiness is within you to have. It truly is.

Who said; “Fear is not an option?” They were right. Think about it. Apart from being chased by a sabre-toothed tiger, when did fear serve you? It doesn’t help you. It doesn’t change the situation. Fear simply feeds an already chaotic situation and does nothing to solve it.

Quit kicking yourself in the “but” and get going.

What are you waiting for?
