Namit Das is one of those versatile actors who has graced almost every medium – be it theatre, films, television or digital. While he has done more positive roles, the actor has proved he can take on any shade with his negative turn in OTT shows such as Abhay and Aarya. In Mira Nair’s BBC mini-series A Suitable Boy, he charmed the girl as well as the audience as Haresh. With a number of exciting projects in the pipeline, Namit lets us in on his weekend plans.
What is your plan for the weekend?
I’m mostly travelling for work this weekend. And if that happens, it will be to Lucknow.
What are three things you are most grateful for this Friday?
Health, wealth and the ability to feel happy at the most unexpected times!
What song are you enjoying this week?
I’m listening to a lot of Louis Armstrong these days. His voice and playing makes me so happy.
What’s your weekend morning routine?
If I am not working, I go to my music room and play a few records. Then I read, go for a run, write a few sentences dedicated to life, come home and sleep.
The TV show you are currently enjoying?
I haven’t watched anything on TV other than cricket for a long time.
Are you a tea or coffee person?
I am a water kind of person.
What’s your favourite comfort food?
Dal chawal with some jeera aloo – Sattvik and perfect.
What is the funniest thing you have read about yourself on the internet?
That the show Sumit Sambhal Lega had to shut down because it wasn’t getting any TRPs! The show was always supposed to be 107 episodes long.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
A midnight drive to town and having a late night ham and cheese sandwich at my favourite restaurant.

What advice do you have for any kid who looks up to you?
Remember to find humour in everything you do. The idea is not to take this mundane humdrum too seriously. Feel light, feel like a feather and fly around…
