Full disclosure, we have always had a bit of a soft spot for Sanjay Dutt as he went to the same school as us. As a young child, we had the privilege to meet him on founders day as the chief guest. There were always chief guests but rarely do you remember them. He forms part of the rare bread that most of us remembered.
On a Friday evening, we reluctantly went to the cinema to watch Sanju. The reluctance soon translated into excitement. The movie was absolutely amazing and told a great story of resilience and willpower. Ranbir Kapoor’s acting was so good, that at times we forgot he wasn’t Sanjay Dutt. As was Vicky Kaushal, the doting friend who never gave up on Sanju. His Gujarati boy vibes couldn’t have been more authentic.
There was never a dull moment.
Moreover, we loved the movie because it had a key message that was aligned with our mission here at The Post. To take back the power of big newspapers in India who fabricate news to generate interest in stories. This resonated with us wholly as our mission here at The Post is to give people the power back and move away from the fake news movement.
We highly recommend Sanju as a movie to watch. So much so that we cannot wait for the rerun to come on TV. It is definitely Raj Kumar Hirani’s best work yet.
Let us know what you thought of Sanju.
